The old ranch house (or Little House) which will be your home away from home is nestled under 200 year old Cottonwood trees looking down on a fast running creek that never goes dry. The ranch is surrounded by BLM Wilderness designated area and the creek originates in that area from springs just 300 yards above the house. Cottonwood trees, grasses and meadow plants cover the canyon floor.
The Little House which was first started with rock rooms around 1900 has one large bedroom, one bath and an oversized family room. Primary heat is provided by a wood stove. A separate bedroom with its own bath is available in a separate upper building.
You will be issued an electronic gate key for access to the ranch and a separate refundable deposit for that key is required. Because of the fire risks and courtesy to others, Pierce Ranch Retreat is a non smoking facility. Drugs are also not allowed.
Call first for an appointment since we have to drive to the gate to open it for you. Cell phones do not work in the canyon. A land line phone is available for your usage.
As a desert wilderness area, we have a variety of wildlife including several species of reptiles, raccoons, squirrels, coyotes, rabbits, quail, an assortment of bird life, plus about once a year we are visited by deer, bear and mountain lion.
Cost for the Little House is $120/night for one or two persons. Additional persons are $25/night. Discounts for Senior citizens and Firefighters. A separate single bedroom and bath is available in the upper level. That unit rents for $60/night and has a double bed.
A continental breakfast is provided for all. Dogs are allowed but a deposit for damage is required. Call first for an appointment since we have to drive to the gate to open it for you. Cell phones do not work in the canyon. A land line phone is available for your usage.
